Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra (MYSO) came to us a year before they were to host the Violins of Hope, a traveling collection of violins that survived the Holocaust. They needed a brand and marketing guide for partners. We became their partner for the year-long campaign.

A violin is centered over a collage of sepia and black-and-white vintage photos, showing people playing instruments, posing, and engaging in group activities from various eras—a nostalgic reflection on how music connects generations and becomes part of our shared branding as a culture.

From the start, we were given access to a collection of historical images — each one tied to the individual stories behind the Violins of Hope. It was clear immediately: these images were just as big a part of the story as the Violins.

So we built the entire campaign around them. A collaged art direction that let history speak and gave the campaign a visual soul.

There were over 60 partners and 300 events in the Wisconsin residency. We created a style and messaging guide that every partner could use to promote their own events. We presented the guides to all partners, taught them how to use the brand elements, and created Canva templates they could use to produce their own advertising.

Two purple flyers for the Violins of Hope film series showcase refined branding against an orange background, listing film titles, dates, ticket prices, and featuring an image of a train track and violin.
